Therapeutic exercise is the prescription of bodily movement or exercise to correct an impairment, improve function, or maintain a state of well being. It may involve large physical movements or small movements related to specific muscles or joints. The exercises are prescribed by a physical therapist, physician, osteopath, occupational therapist, or chiropractor. All of the prescribed exercises are done so for the sole purpose of aiding healing of an individual’s problem, condition, or need.
